Controlling Android from external application

Postby sgadrian » Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:58 am

Hi,

is there a way to control Android from an external application?

What I want to do is to setup voicecalls, send sms, control gui etc from lets say an application running on my pc.

On other platforms this has always been possible with AT-commands(ATD, ATH etc.).

If no such functionaliy exist would it be possible to write a service(background app?) that can simulate keypresses? If I can simulate keypresses I guess I will be able to test most applications just like a person would do.

BR,
Sven

Android (atleast 0.9) has a vncserver in it, you should search google for this and try that out.
