AVD - USB Host Support - no devices found

Postby harnz » Mon Oct 24, 2011 10:49 pm

Hello,

I am interested in developing an application which uses the USB host mode.
Unfortunately I don't have a 3.1+ Android yet, hence I am restricted to AVD in order to simulate my application.

I am curious whether AVD is able to simulate a USB host application at all, because it does not seem to detect the USB devices connected to my computer (I am running OS 10.6).

Here is a snippet of my code:

Code: Select all
UsbManager manager = (UsbManager) getSystemService(Context.USB_SERVICE);
HashMap<String, UsbDevice> deviceList = manager.getDeviceList();
if(deviceList.size()==0)
        myView.setText("NO USB DEVICE FOUND!");

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Best,
