AndroidManifest problem

Postby lordzip » Thu Nov 11, 2010 4:45 am

Why this part of code produces error in manifest?

After running emulator is saying
Installation error: INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_MANIFEST_MALFORMED

But if this part is removed, there is no error.

Code: Select all
   <activity android:name=".giveMeView" >
     <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" />
        <data android:scheme="file" />
        <data android:mimeType="*" />
        <data android:pathPattern=".*\\.fls" />
        <data android:host="*" />
    </intent-filter>
  </activity>

Project was built with 1.6, it is K9Mail application.

But what is wrong with this, I am rebuilding it from start. Why this code is generating this problem.
I have set compliance level for 1.6 in this project.
Do I have to put different xml description for 1.6 or...?

tnx for help.

Code: Select all
<activity
     android:name=".giveMeView"
     android:label="@string/give_me_view"
>
     <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" />
        <data android:scheme="file" />
        <data android:mimeType="*" />
        <data android:pathPattern=".*\\.fls" />
        <data android:host="*" />
    </intent-filter>
  </activity>

I have set string in resources, but the problem stays the same.

does your class that is referenced in android:name not start with a capital letter? If not, I would change this regardless of if it actually fixes it. Standard coding practice suggests that all classes (and this pertains to all programming languages, not just java) should start with a capital letter.
