Android Application upload to Device

Postby NevinM » Thu Oct 09, 2008 4:58 am

If some one would clarify this for me it would be great. When you want to actual send an application to an actual android device, you just need to send the .apk file correct? I assume this file is similar to sending a .cab file for windows mobile or a .prc file for Palm OS. I assume that Handango and Anroid Market will both use OTA transfer of these files?

I just want to make sure I am correct on this, as you are already able to upload files to Handango (and not just freeware).

Hello NevinM,

yes, you only need to send the signed apk. (or put it to your webspace)

See info about signing here: viewtopic.php?p=11131

I've read in the Docs that a debug signed apk is valid aswell, as the validity (is that correct?) is only checked at install time!
