Sponsor for Android Tutorial Contest

Postby plusminus » Sun Mar 30, 2008 1:54 pm

Hey guys,

as you may have seen, we are having a new ad/sponsor: itzybit.com.
The reason for that is not to make money, but to reinvest the money in the:

Image

So we the money flows from the sponsor over us to you in the form of fancy Android-Shirts.
Hopefully resulting in high-quality tutorials. :!:

Please let us know, what you are thinking of this :!:

Regards,

the deadline of 13th April clashes with the ADC deadline. Maybe you could consider extending the deadline by 10-15 days.

Hm, yes you are right.

One thing I'm thinkign about is, that its not that nice to have multiple tutorials on one topic.

What do you think on defining no explicit topic to write about (just a "would be nice to hear of"). :?:

[Edit]
Yeah, I changed it.
Deadline is now 14 days longer.
Topic is FREE-TO-CHOOSE
Now 3, instead of 1 shirt can be won.
[/Edit]

i think the topic should be something which is not already present in the forum. repeating old tutorials won't help the community.

The more tutorials the better

Postby damien » Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:22 am

The more tutorials the better - it's not always possible to cover a subject area in one tutorial and- did you learn algebra from one example? so lets have multiple tutorials - some will be easy, some more difficult.

Hello damien,

you are right, but there are still some parts of the Android SDK that are not present here on anddev, so for the beginning its probably better to cover these first :)
