With companies like Apple and Microsoft patenting every thing they can think of , we need to do something to protect ourselves from loosing every good idea we have. Small things that we take for granted, like simple touch gestures, may soon fall under U.S. patents. We need to collect donations and create a contract among the open source community to file community owned patents. This way we can all benefit from no-brainer ideas that shouldn't be patented in the first place.
