|

Hello Community,
via helloandroid.com.
Toronto based OmniGSoft has released APK files for 5 out of 10 of the very eye pleasing OpenGL ES games that it's prepping for the Android Developers Challenge. The screenshots look very promising, but because they are heavily dependent on OpenGL they run very slow on the emulator which currently does not have any support for hardware acceleration.
From their website:
| Quote: | | All games are designed and implemented on OmniGsoft's proprietary cross-platform 3D game engine that supports multiple mobile platforms such as Android, Windows Mobile and JavaME. Powered by OpenGL|ES as 3D graphics power plant and Android accelerometer as an alternative game control, these mobile games are aiming to provide the highest quality of 3D graphics and gaming experience on Android platform. |
The developers claim that the game "City Stage" runs at 24 FPS in it's Windows Mobile port, and that hopefully we can expect similar performance for Android.

The game with the red plane responds to a built-in accelerometer by the way. Tilt the phone and the plane will tilt with you
There's a video of that somewhere... |
