Your Market Experience

Postby droozen » Tue Mar 03, 2009 6:54 pm

For those developers that already have apps up on the Market, what has been your experience as far as user downloads. For me, for my first, a free app, in the first day and a half I've gotten over 1,100 people who have installed and kept the app (84%). Out of that it looks like 16 have rated it (4 stars!) Only 5 have bought my paid version, which I just put up last night.

So, how are your apps doing? Anyone out there programming on just the emulator? (That's me for now. :S)

Market Trouble

Postby luxerama » Sat May 30, 2009 1:39 pm

I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the market, especially with the sign-up process. I have tried to create a market acc a couple of times however I never get passed the payment stage. For some reason my Bank always denies the payment request made by Google Market and my bank subsequently puts my card on hold. Very strange, might not even be anything to do with Google and the market.

@droozen:
That's interesting to read. Personally I do not have realized anything to the
market. Could you give us an update if you are still satisfied with the market
and how things evolved ?

That would be really interesting.

@all:
Of course - everyone is welcome to share their experience with the market
or the general acceptance of android apps - wether they are commercial or
free.

Thanks in advance!

Would be interesting to see any update on your numbers? And I'm also programming on just the emulator :)

Hello! :)

A few days ago our game Pobs has been released in Market (it's free) and we have similar stats.
First day:
~1700 total
active installs ~80%

(without screenshots in Market)
---
Then downloads quickly falling.
1700 may be a little bit high for average game, because Pobs was one of the ADC2 finalists, so many people could know it.
Here is another stats - FoxHunter (game, free):
1 day: 951 total
2 day: 450-500
3 day: ~250
4-5-6 days: ~180~150~75
(source: www.slideshare.net/bexcite/android-game ... nter-start)

---
It would be great if someone could show his stats too.
