I'm going to cut to the chase as I'm typing on a tablet now.
I'm wondering how many people would be interested in "competing" in a sort of programming competition based on AndEngine development. Developers work alone, with say... 8 hours to put together whatever game they can think of. Graphics can be dummy assets, but the gameplay will be voted on by the community with most votes being the winner.
The idea is to create the best possible game/gameplay experience you can within an 8 hour time period. The purpose is to help devs build experience, gain ideas, and build relationships within the AE community. And when I say relationships, I'm hinting more toward forming potential independent game companies, if that's your thing.
By the way, all code would be expected to be public in order to compete so that the community would be able to view the full game source.
How does this sound? There's still a few details to be ironed out, but we'll see where this goes first.
