Hi!

Nice thread.

I would like to know if it's possible tu put a permanent notification. By "permanent" i mean that the user won't be able to delete it by clicking "clear"

Because i would like to put a shortcut to my app there!

I think i would use something like:

Code: Select all
public static final int FLAG_NO_CLEAR

Since: API Level 1
Bit to be bitwise-ored into the flags field that should be set if the notification should not be canceled when the user clicks the Clear all button.
Constant Value: 32 (0x00000020)

But doesn't seem to work!

Hello there.

My problem is this:

I would like to make no icon in the statusbar for my users. what is the best way to do that.

Now, i am using a transparent icon, but i think that's a stupid way to do this.

Any better idea?

Simplier notify with more options

Postby azelez » Fri May 14, 2010 5:37 am

Great tutorial,
But goes a little out of the way to explain the notify (To much extra).

There is a more basic tutorial at: http://www.firstdroid.com/2010/05/09/le ... ation-bar/

They also added how to change the led color, and the blink time.

Plusminus, what kind of Notification constructor are you using? The official one has up to 3 parameters!
Notification(int icon, CharSequence tickerText, long when)
Search! Learn solid foundations! Not just ask questions.

Hi is this enough to start a notification service?

Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1.  startService(new Intent(ResInfo.this,Notify.class));
  2.
Parsed in 0.030 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

Use this Easy to use library,

http://code.google.com/p/android-easy-library/

The library, allows you to create a notification very easily, To create a notification, just use the following code,
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1. EasyNotification en1 = new EasyNotification(this,0);
  2.
  3. en1.showNotification();
  4.
Parsed in 0.031 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

You can also mofify other parameters of the notification, all that is given in the documentation within it.

Hi guys.
I am a noobie in Android development and Java especially. However,I found already a way,how to complete apps for myself.
In this case,I am developing an app,where I want to put an icon to taskbar. Well,here is the code,but I am not exactly able to make this working.
I would like to prefer,if there is a downloadable full source of this example. Can you please share with me full source of this?
Thank you very much in Advance.
Tomas.
