I just want to ask something about the transparent theme used by the API Demos.


I have created an application(it's a hello world application with a transparent background) which is implementing the transparent theme used by the API Demos. The application i created is perfectly running on the emulator, but when i decided to run it on a real device, the background seems not to be transparent, instead, the background is color black.

Is there something i forgot to include on my device?

If you want your application to be transparent/translucent, I believe you need to set the theme, and not just change the background:

You can do this via code:

        setTheme(android.R.style.Theme_Translucent_NoTitleBar);
        setContentView(R.layout.main);
}


or in your AndroidManifest.xml, in your Activities settings.

You can use:
Theme_Translucent
Theme_Translucent_NoTitleBar
Theme_Translucent_NoTitleBar_Fullscreen
