is there a way to interface with messaging?

Postby gatornuke » Thu Nov 12, 2009 10:06 pm

I'm a complete newbie at android development. I do have some experience with C++ and visual basic, though. I'm trying to develop an application that interfaces with sms. How would i go about, for instance, reading a text message from the device and replacing every instance of the word "bue" with the word "red"?

I'm not sure if i should make this into a stand alone application, or if there's a way to make a widget nested in the messaging application? How do i even get started?

please let em know if anyone can help.

Thanks,
gatornuke
