importing into eclipse

Postby Innerchaos » Thu Jan 20, 2011 4:29 am

Hello all First time poster...there are a couple of tutorials that I am interested in figuring out how they work.

I dont want to bump an old post but there are two posts/tutorials that I am insterested in.

novice-tutorials-f8/udp-networking-within-the-emulator-t280.html

and

general-f3/socket-programming-t325.html

My question on either of them is how do I import them into eclipse.

I created a new project and matched the package name.

then I copied the .java files into the src directory but it seems to just give me a lot of redX's with various errors.

I am more interested in the Client side aspect of this and was hoping to learn from the samples but as of yet they wont run on my emu

I hate to answer my own questions but I too had to remove the @Override on the server and client
then I can get eclipse to actually start the activity

however on the EMU i get
Sorry
The application Socket Test
(process come.e2esp.socket.test)
has stopped unexpectedly.

so I guess I can import thanks

Click on the "file" tab expand the "general" option. If the code to be imported has been exported as a "file system" import with that option. I've gotten that to work. If the code you want to import has been saved as individual files. Your creating a project and copying the code into files created with the correct name is an approach I've used for extremely simple projects.
Remember that "project clean-up" sometimes helps..control O...
But by and large I get stuck about this stage.
