The tutorial is very nice, but didn't it take you a while to take all those screenshots and edit them? Maybe you could use the same set up as this guy...

Which might have saved you time. Just learn the app, talk and record and BAM... upload it to youtube. I think you will attract more people from youtube searches too.

Just a thought. Thanks for your hard work.

Your tutorial is good, I am not good at English. I learn C and Linux programming last year.
I began to study Java and android programming since last week. This website is treasure, thanks again.
I am newbie! I know little about programming, and I need a English dictionary to help me to figure out what you said and what I am going to say. BUT, I Will Try my best to be an Android Developer.

When I try to run this project in the emulator, it just shows the bootscreen with "Android" and the blinking cursor, then it switches to the android logo. After that, nothing happens anymore.
Can anyone help?

Edit: Ok, never mind. Apparently it had to do with my Windows drive only having 4 kb of free memory ...

Hey I have a question, I have developed the helloAndroid application, I have run it in the emulator, it runs fine, and then when I try and upload it to the phone it says parse error. I have a feeling it may be an error in the way I am exporting the project, or uploading it to the phone. I export as a signed application using the default debugging keys, and then I upload via usb to a folder on the SD card, I then use a filemanager (Linda) to browse to the .apk and then I get a parse error.

Vorian, I think I read somewhere that the phones don't run apps signed with the debugging key. I'm not sure though.

You need to generate a key for your application before it will run on the device. =)

okay I signed the app using the Eclipse generator, generated my own key, and signed it. Exported and everything, put it on my SD card, and I even downloaded a program that installs .apk files from my SD card and I still get a parse error, is it possible that this tutorial has an error in the 2.1 framework?
