Detect phone going to sleep mode

Hi,

Is there a way to detect phone going into sleep mode? I searched through the entire Android doc but couldn't find any related intent.

Or Android OS doesn't broadcast this intent?

no it does. the event can be seen by a broadcastReceiver screen_off
