Depends on how much you can design api-independant before.
I'm the person that often jumps into the cold water , but you are right, >5 months without sdk-update will probably introduce a lot of changes... I fear this a bit to.

Well that could be. But I don't think that a company that offers such great designs like the HTC Touch Pro (case design) would stop at that point of the reference design.

both are the htc dream. just open your eyes. this will be the first android device.
