In market it says your app uses Development Tools, which allows us to use Debug and such, so my guess was there's a debug and release mode.

G1userNow: Here is a signed .apk for you to test if you'd like.

I'll digg a bit deeper on that when I'm back home.

Thats the crap that happens, when you don't release devices to the devs before putting them to public

Tea.ch Cards for Android

Postby oxonom » Thu Oct 09, 2008 12:22 am

Hello g1usernow

Could you try to install my application at http://tea.ch/cards/FlashcardsLight0.9.1a.apk it's listed on the page
http://tea.ch/cards/ there you will find deck files in Tea.ch Cards file format (TCD) too.

If you have time, could you make some additional tests?

A. File format test 1 (online download):
1. From the main Tea.ch Cards view use Menu->Internet to get to the page http://tea.ch/cards/
2. Click on a sample tcd file above.
3. Verify if you have a new deck of cards on your phone.

B. File format test 2 (SD card):
1. The same but from the SD card
2. From the main view use Menu->Load deck
3. Verify if you have a new deck of cards on your phone.

C. CSV import test:
1. Save the text file en-de-test.txt on a SD card and put it into Android
2. Create new deck with Menu->New Deck
3. Press Back-Button to return
4. Click on the newly created deck.
5. Use Menu->Import to get a list of textfiles on the SD card.
6. Click on the file.
7. Click on 'Import'
8. Verify that the words are there

how does it work?

Thanks.

Good news: Gravity Ringer installs and activates as a service. Looks good, also activates when the phone is upside down.

Bad news: When the phone is turned upside down it activates after the set delay, but the phone begins vibrating non-stop and the application crashes.

Downloaded and installed fine.

The application launches and loads to a blank screen. Pressing "Menu" allows me to select "new deck", "Load deck", "Internet", "help" and "about".

A. The pages loads fine but after selecting a sample tcd file you can see what appears to be a ton of random characters that you can scroll through (similar to opening a photo file in notepad). After pressing "back" i can see that the sample deck was successfully downloaded.

B. It opens a file browser but I see no tcd or deck file on the sdcard.

C. Works perfectly. Created a folder called "October 08" with 38 cards.

I hope that helps...... :)

Thank you very, very much, although it's bad news :). I'll have a look at it. But in the emu it works, so, it'll probably be a hard find... I'll upload a new version without the vibrating, for starters.

On a side note: I have problems getting my GravityRinger service started at system launch (BOOT_COMPLETED), how should I start a service? An intent-filter in the <service> tag doesn't seem to help...

g1usernow, thank you very much.

It looks like the emulator is quite close to the real phone for my case.

Webview is showing the contents of the file as if it is a text file. The shouldOverrideUrlLoading didn't work as expected.

At B. the app doesn't create a copy on the SD card automatically, which works as intended. Test B. should be differently.

B. Save a deck to SD card, load it from SD:
1. Long-Press on a deck to open context menu
2. Choose 'Save deck'
3. Type in a file name (extension tcd will be appended if not present)
4. Press 'Save deck' button.
5. Open it as new deck with Menu->Load deck
6. Klick on the file.
7. Verify that a new deck was created.

D. Test touch behaviour:
1. Press the 'Learn' Button.
2. Tip on the presented card to flip through cards sides.
3. Swipe the presented card either to the left, right, top.

If you need some more infos or are intrested in the app, I have a manual at http://tea.ch/cards/help/

Again, thank you.

Just an idea. For his services you could owe him a free version of your app, when its done. This is how I'll do it :)

PM sending?

Postby tberthel » Sun Oct 12, 2008 12:08 am

I tried to PM this to g1usernow a few days ago, but it is still in the outbox. Is the PM really sent?

g1usernow,

http://allbinary.no-ip.biz/AllBinaryArcadeGames.html

I would be very interested in seeing if my games work on the real phone.

I will give you a free copy of each game when the final versions come out if you can give me video or pictures of the demos running on the phone. I would like to post them on or before Oct 22.

Sincerely,

Travis Berthelot

I also have a G1. GravityRinger gave me the same error as stated above.

Would it be possible for me to try the beta of AndNav? It's the android app I'm most excited about right now.

I tried the .apk v 0.6.0 but I suspect it's not in a format suitable for the phone. Downloading and opening didn't do anything (it worked with GravityRinger)

Got PM, but I would not bet that it works properly, as I have no G1 to test it on

Golf App

Postby NevinM » Thu Oct 16, 2008 1:23 am

Can someone test this golf app, I made on a G1. It is a shareware app, but I will gladly send anyone the registration code if they can give me some feedback on its performance on an actual G1.

Download it here:

http://www.morrisonmuscle.com/GolfTracks_Signed.apk

Thanks,
