Garmin a manufacturer of navigation-devices is going to promote an internet & navigation-device, called "nüvifone" on the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona.
Explicit technical details are unknown up to now. The few things known up to now are that it will shine with a standard 3"5 Touchscreen. Its functionality is going to be shortened, or lets say it was designed for easiest usability, providing only three icons to the user after startup: "Call", "Search" and "Show Map".
3.5G, MP3, MPEG-4, Mailing, SMS and IM (Instant Messaging) will also be available as Garmin announced.
A nice feature to mention is that photos taken with the built in camera are automatically tagged with the current gps position.
The phone will be released to the masses in the third Quarter this year. Initially maps for North-America, West and East Europe will be available. The price is also unknown.
