Android Market FAKE online

Postby plusminus » Mon Sep 08, 2008 1:21 pm

Hello Community,

I've just read the following article and guess what, the first AndroidMarket-FAKE is online!

It is hosted by the guys at androidcommunity.com and its definitely fake, because Google would so never give away the market to user hands!
Even better is there store, because you can for example order a "Bluetooth-GPS-Kit" for T-Mobiles G1. That is double nonsense, because
  • Bluetooth is not working on current Android SDK @ application level!
  • The G1 will be GPS-enabled itself.
So its your choice in what you trust

So wait... Is it now CONFIRMED that the G1/HTC Dream will have GPS?

T-Mobile / HTC should hit themselves in the nuts if it doesn't. Android IS location :!:

Online App store for non-Android users?

Postby IcedDante » Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:16 pm

Just curious- is there an app store online that can be browsed online (kind of the equivalent of yappler for the iPhone)?

I never understood why Apple and Google seem to be so hesitant to allow people to browse applications online.

Times ago I used Cyrket from saurik but it went down.
Then I used AndroLib but it's not so updated and you must ask for an update (as a registered user).
Then some days ago, saurik has came back with cyrket :)
It's really not the same as before, something has changed, but I tried a simple test and cyrket won for update reason.

I updated PhoneInfo (our free app) on the market, now at version 2.1.1.
- Cyrket shows it at 2.1.1 and with ALL comments
- Androlib needs the "ask for update" and shows not ALL comments (you must click on the flags and polish is missing :P)
- AndroidZoom is so not updated (does it need "ask for update"!?).

For me, by NOW :P, cyrket is the cyrket ;)
So, again, thanx saurik :)

Duh... We already have enough third party market places... Probably because Google Android Marketplace fail to allow paid apps for many countries. And now fakes are coming in... :( yet another reason for Apple to point fingers at us.
