where to start - connect to mysql database

Postby kiwidesign » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:33 am

Hi all,

What I am wanting to achieve (and don't know if it is possible)

I have an external (i.e. not on the phone) mysql database that I want my application to read from and write to.
Is this possible?

Regards,
Kate

As far as i know there is no way to connect directly to a external DB.
Implement some kind of own protocol with xml and a php script on server site
or use REST/SOAP stuff.. depends on what kind of data you want to exchange
and in which amount you plan to send.
This is a common task and their should be hundrets of related threads in this forum
to gain an overview of your possibilities.
