jrr,

you can telnet to the emulator:
telnet localhost 5554

to check the connection type:
gsm status

gsm data status should be: home, if not type
gsm data on

try http://www.google.com in the browser, and see if you can open the page.

Other options to try:
- Use the -wipe -data option when starting the emulator (wipes all userdata from the emulator like a hard reset)
- Google Group - Android Developers - Network Access, some people with also network problems

let me know,

Hi Jodol,

I replaced the website's name (http://www.webservicex.net) with the corresponding IP address and it worked.

Seems to be emulator does not use DNS's settings of Windows Vista.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards.

It is displaying 'right' or better, it is displaying raw, look at the Source-Code your browser returns.
It returns exactly the same, as your TextView shows.
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using xml Syntax Highlighting
 1. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
 2. <string xmlns="http://www.webserviceX.NET"><NewDataSet /></string>

is it possible to get JSON response from SoapObject....
iam guessing that the response is JSON

here the response i have pasted below....

};

I want to know that what is response i got from the server

How to parse that response and show in the form of list....
