Proxy settings done correctly in emulator-no net connection

Postby ronyfederer » Tue Dec 01, 2009 5:16 am

Hi,
For the past few days I have been trying to configure the connection settings for my android emulator. Unfortunately, I am not able to get a net connection for my emulator. My system is under proxy connection. I have done the needed steps to configure the proxy settings from my emulator. Please go through the screenshots in the attached document, which shows the steps I had taken for configuration. Also, kindly guide me as to what need to be done so that I get connection for my emulator.

Any help in this regard is well appreciated.

Looking forward,
Anees

Hi,
First follow this http://discuz-android.blogspot.com/2008 ... owser.html

and then make sure that no ports are blocked. I have done this for android 1.5 and the emulator is accessing internet.

Initially after doing everything as stated in the above link, I couldn't access internet the reason was that some ports were blocked for me. As soon as the ports were unblocked, the emu worked fine.

Note : This is already discussed here in some thread. Before creating a new thread you are supposed to search this forum first. :)

Hi virtual,
I have made a thorough research and after that only, I posted my query with the maximum possible details and screenshots.

FYI

http://www.anddev.org/emulator__interne ... -t130.html --no solution

http://www.anddev.org/solved_emulator_p ... t8534.html -- done as per last suggestion, didnt work

http://www.anddev.org/not_able_to_do_pr ... t6418.html -- done- but no result

http://www.anddev.org/internet_proxy_se ... t2855.html -- no solutions for the same problem

You have advised to check whether any ports are blocked. The same HTTP proxy - Port combination works perfect for me in mozilla firefox.

Pleas guide me so that I get the net working perfectly in emulator.

Hi,

I have tested this. I am using 1.5 over Fedora 10. It works like a charm.

Hi,

Thanks alot virtual for your suggestions and helping attitude.

Solved the issue as follows.

Follow the instructions given by syl in http://www.anddev.org/solved_emulator_p ... t8534.html

If you still do not get the net connection, go to TCP/IP settings - > See whether 'Obtain an IP address automatically' is selected -> if not, select it and give your DNS server -> open the browser in emulator -> u will have ur problem solved

When you do these settings, make sure that you do not give any proxies for your IE or Mozilla browsers in your computer.

Footnote:

Rather than running queries for getting connection, I presume doing the required settings from phone itself is the good workaround.
