Programmatically sending an MMS + P2P communication

Hey guys (especially plusminus),

I would highly appreciate it if you could share your ideas regarding the following two issues:

a) is there a way to programmatically send an MMS message? if not - is there a way to open, from
my own activity the standard Android 'send MMS' screen?

b) is there a way (call it a GTalk replacement) to allow two Android devices to talk with one another
via Tcp/Udp/other communication protocol. Notice that the devices may belong to different operators,
hence a way of overcoming firewall/NAT networks is required.

Thanks,
GiladH
