Permission problem for DatagramSocket

Postby xiaoboalex » Sun Jan 03, 2010 3:44 am

It seems that adding “android.permission.INTERNET” doesn't take effect for DatagramSocket,
It still throws exception (INTERNET permission) when creating DatagramSocket.
But this permisson is available for java.net.URL. Does anyone know the reason?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Solved. This is caused by lacking root permission. Only root can bind port number less than 1024.
