IM and plugins

Hi,

I was thinking about possibilities of implementing gadu-gadu protocol (popular IM in Poland) on Android and how much work it needs.

Basically there is already java implementation of this protocol called jggapi

I was looking at the android IM source code in the GIT repo but couldn't work out how to glue new protocols to the existing IM application, and where other protocols like MSN, AIM and YAHOO are implemented. Under plugin directory there is set of interfaces that needs to be implemented but haven't seen one responsible for sending messages.

Of course I may end up writing my own UI but still it would be nicer just to focus on porting the protocol itself and leave UI design to google.

I guess it would be nice to have multi-protocol capable IM on Android so if you have any ideas/experience how to achieve it please help :)
