Final Cut Pro X does not read thismxf format files, if there is a reliable solution to convert P2 mxf files to Apple ProRes which FinalMate Cut Pro X compatiblecodec, this problem will be solved easily then.

Well, after many attempts and search online, I finally got agood solution to do so, and will share this information to let people who meet the same problem with me on transferring P2 mxf files into Final Cut Pro X on Mac.

Firstly you should make sure you have the complete P2 mxf structure of both Audio and Video folders as saved on P2 card.Or else, you will find there is no sound in the video file finally. Here is apicture of the MXF file structure on Panasonic’s P2 card.

Then just need a few clicks, the whole conversion from P2 MXF to Final Cut Pro X will be finished.
