When I try to open http://www.google.com page in emulator browser, It gives the error
"The connection to the server was unsuccessful " on Android browser page.

I am using proxy server I also changed settings in Eclipse IDE (windows-preferences-Internet Connection)
And also off the fire walls. Then also above problem persist.

Thank you

Here's a possible solution:

Emulator's Browser does not work behind a HTTP Proxy

Detailed Problem Description:

When you launch an android application from Eclipse, the emulator's browser does not work when the machine is behind an HTTP Proxy. The localhost (10.0.2.2) does not work either.

Solution:

Under "Run Configurations", select the configuration being used to launch the app. Select the "Target" tab. Look for emulator params textbox. Add in the proxy information as "-http-proxy http://login:password@ip:port" without quotes. You may skip the login and password if the proxy does not require authentication. Restart Eclipse and relaunch using the same run configuration. Verify by launching the browser from the simulator.

Notes:

Running Ganymede with Android 0.9 Beta on Ubuntu 8.04

Hi,
Set the proxy settings in emulator like emulator setting->wireless networks->mobile network settings->access point names->then set values for proxy, port, user name, password.

If we do this Internet connection will work from emulator browser, but not through application code. Please let me know if any body has the solution for Internet connection through code.
