Reduce latency with OpenAL

Postby Kcm » Wed Jan 19, 2011 3:05 pm

Hello,

I use OpenAL in my android game for playing sound.
It works well on HTC Legend and HTC Desire HD.

But not with Samsung Galaxy S and Motorola Droid !
on this devices, I have a 0.4 sec shift after alSourcePlay call.

Anyone know how to reduce latency with OpenAL ?
Do you know a difference in device about that ?

Thanks for your help.

I have a little more info about my bug.

In openAL, it use JNI to call "android/media/AudioTrack" in STREAM_MODE.
It make an audioTrack.write( soundbuffer, ... ) at each sound.

There is a latency bug with this command => about 400ms with Samsung devices !

Do you know if there is a static_mode audioTrack openAL support?
