It's true that FCPX improve its compatibility for MXF files and supports some of the HD P2 camcorders, but for Panasonic HPX series, only HPX250p and HPX255 is included.

How to Convert Panasonic AG-HPX370 P2 MXF tp ProRes for FCP X on Mac

Step 1. Get this Mac Panasonic P2 Converter installed and load your footages. Click top left icon to load individual mxf video files; or click the second one to import the whole folder.


Step 2. Choose proper format for editing in FCP X.

Click Format drop-down list, choose Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(HQ)(*.mov), as it's FCPX's most compatible codec.

Step 3. Fix the output ProRes video settings for FCPX.

Click Settings at the bottom, you can fix the video size, bitrate, frame rate, etc. The video quality is related with video bitrate, the higher you choose, the larger output file size will be.


Step 4. Start conversion.

Ok now click the red circle at bottom right to start converting Panasonic AG-HPX370 MXF footage to ProRes for FCPX on Mac. Wait for while, or you can choose to shut down computer after conversion done.
