Easily Editing Sony XDCAM recordings with FCP X/6/7 Mac

Final Cut Pro X can not provides native support for Sony XDCAM, XDCAM EX, and XDCAM HD (including XDCAM HD 50) cameras, its best supported video format is Apple ProRes 422 codec MOV format. Standard-definition XDCAM cameras record DVCAM at 25Mbps and MPEG IMX at 30Mbps, 40Mbps and 50Mbps. XDCAM HD cameas record 1080-line or 720-line high-definition MPEG-2 video as MXF files at 18Mbps, 25Mbps and 35Mbps and 50Mbps(HD422 Cameras only). XDCAM EX cameras record high-definition MPEG-2 video as MP4 files on solid-state SxS memory cards.

So To be able to import Sony XDCAM, XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX media into Final Cut Pro X, you'll need to download and install the Sony XDCAM Transfer software and XDCAM Drive software.
