Text to Speech

Postby vinayg18 » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:27 am

Hello,

I've been trying to work on Android TTS, and I've managed to figure out how to synthesise speech for some text, but now, I want to utilize the OnUtteranceCompleted listener of a TextToSpeech object. Basically, I have a String array
Code: Select all
String[] str = {"Hello","Good morning","Good evening"};

I want "Hello" to be spoken first, and I'd like to be notified after the speech synthesis is done, so I can initiate the speech synthesis of "Good morning". I'd rather not use QUEUE_ADD in the speak() method. Can anyone explain the usage of the OnUtteranceCompleted listener, perhaps with a code example? [developer.android.com does not show the usage of OnUtteranceCompleted.]

Thanks.
