Hello..I want to get the glossy effect as a header in my application..if u can help me then it would be great..i have attached a sample...

You need to make a custom title bar. Check the samples in the SDK, I believe there's such an example. If there isn't just hide the normal titlebar and make your 'titlebar' the top most view of the content view.

hello..thank you for reply..I want that effect using code..i mean through shape.xml...I can put this image in titlebar but putting an image will increase my app size..so is there any way to get glossy effect... I tried with gradient but still not appropriate....

You should use a 9-patches image for that, so you can keep the size of the titlebar image small, but the quality will remain high. The only disadventage is that using this approach is that you can't use diagonally lines accross.
