Create a bitmap with custom config

Is there a function to create a "Bitmap" from a R.drawable.x object and setting the Bitmap.Config too?

Bitmap.Config   ARGB_8888

Parsed in 0.030 seconds,  using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

There are many combinations of Bitmap.createBitmap and BitmapFactory.decodeResource but none of them includes both resource id and Bitmap.Config :/ and I think a double step is very expensive in this case.
