Adding mp3 files to Ringtones folder

Postby lostInTransit » Thu Mar 05, 2009 6:01 am

Hi

I am adding some mp3 files to the Ringtones folder from my app (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones) and when I browse through the files using a file browser (given as a tutorial on anddev), I can see all my ringtone files. I can also see some files added as ringtones from Ringdroid in the browser so I know I copied the files to the correct place.

But when I go to the Ringtone settings I cannot see any of the files I copied in the list of available ringtones. It seems as if the ringtones were copied but then they just disappeared into thin air!

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here or whether I am copying the files to the wrong place?

Thanks.

As soon as I synced my phone with my Mac, the ringtones are displayed. Any ideas why that would happen?
