I come from China.

I want to develop a TTS application, so I choose eye-free TTS lib,(http://code.google.com/p/eyes-free/), but I meet problems:
1 It just can speak my text inESPEAK mode, the voice is so strange and no man will like it. So can it use other mode or is there some other better TTS lib?
2 How can I insert a delay beteewn two Chinese words?
