how to get map api's for using mapview in your application

plz help me in these metters:

i am working on windows xp using eclipse 3.5 for android application development
i want to include google maps in my application..for that i need map api's key from google

1. what is certificate and how to create a certificate?
2. how to get md5 fingerprint of the certificate?
