Most Mac users would prefer Final Cut Pro to handle and edit video recordings since it is such an excellent editing software, but Final Cut Pro is not compatible with many video formats, such as AVI, MKV, MP4, and M4V and if you attempt to import AVI, MKV, MP4 and M4V files into FCP on Mac Mavericks 10.9, you have to convert these videos to Final Cut Pro acceptable MOV format firstly.

Step-by step guide of importing M4V video to Final Cut Pro on Mac Mavericks 10.9

Step 1. Run Pavtube M4V to Final Cut Pro Converter on Mac Mavericks 10.9.

Step 2. Add M4V video clips.

Click "Add" button and browser to M4V located folders on your computer.

Select best M4V to FCP profile preset by clicking "Final Cut Pro" > "Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)". Plus, you could adjust profile parameters like size, bit rate, frame rate to get better video quality or custom file size.

Step 4. Convert M4V video for Final Cut Pro.

Click the big "Convert" icon to start M4V to Final Cut Pro conversion. When finished, get the generated .MOV files by clicking "Open" button and you could import your M4V videos to Final Cut Pro for editing.
