Video to HTC One Max-Play AVI/MPG/FLV/TiVo to HTC One Max

HTC One Max is coming to us. The One Max’s LCD display measures 5.9 inches across and sports a full-HD 1080p resolution with a sharp 367 ppi. Just like the iPhone 5s, the HTC One Max has a fingerprint scanner. You can read text that’s sharper than the printed page, see images more vivid than the highest quality photo magazine, and watch videos come to life in vibrant 1080p HD.

When I got the smartphone, I’d like to play some video/movie files on it. And as far as I know HTC One Max can support .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9), .avi (MP4 ASP and MP3) well. If, however, HTC One Max refuses to play a video, it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

- Unsupported codec (e.g. DTS)
- Huge file size (that exceeds maximum 4GB file size)
- High bitrate (e.g. camera footage taken at 18-25mbps)
- Unsupported video format (e.g. *.vob format)
- Protections (e.g. iTunes videos)

In order to play all MKV, AVI, VOB, TiVo, MPG, WMV, FLV/F4V videos on HTC One Max properly, you’d better convert videos into HTC One Max supported video formats first before transferring them to the phone. Along with some help from third-party software, this can be done effortlessly.

Download and install aPubsoft Video Converter or Video Converter for Mac

It is the best program I can recommend for encode/re-encode videos for HTC One Max (available for Windows or Mac users). It works as an all-in-all high-quality video converter, player and editor. With the tool, you can convert any video file MKV, FLV, AVI, MPG, TiVo, MTS, M2TS, VOB to One Max supported video format keeping the original video quality. The most important is that this tool allows you to set the video size and frame rate for your videos manually and it supports cutting black borders of your original videos with its Crop function, which make sure full-screen playback on HTC One Max.

Guide: Convert videos (MKV, AVI, FLV, MTS, MPG, VOB, MOV) to HTC One Max

Step 1. Launch the Video Converter for HTC One Max, and import your source materials. Batch conversion is supported so that you can add multiple files for conversion at a time.

Step 2. Click “Format” bar, simply select “Common Video > H.264 Video(*.mp4)” as the output video format. To get videos for full screen playback on HTC One Max, you can go to “HTC” and choose “HTC One Series Video(*.mp4)” as the output format to get 1280*720 H.264 MP4 video files, which are perfect for playing on HTC One Max.

Step 3. (Optional) If you like, you can click “Settings” to change the video encoder, resolution, frame rate, etc. as you wish. According to my experience, for watching videos on the HTC One Max, 720p with 1500~2000kbps is just all right. Keep in mind that some of the settings can be tweaked to improve the video quality but it’s a balance between quality and size.

Step 4. Finally, hit the “Convert” button to start MKV/AVI/WMV/VOB/FLV/MPG/F4V to HTC One MaxMP4 conversion.

After the conversion, you can click “Open” to locate the converted MP4 video files and just transfer them to your HTC One Max without limitation!
