Well you see they weren't too big on parole back then (which is why they had a lot less crime). So after serving his LIFE sentence he would have been dead. No he didn't come back, unless he snuck back. I don't know if I'd really call it "family" but yeah. Relatives through great, great, great uncles aren't really close enough to be called "family".
