Thanks Nicolas, plusminus, and the rest of the crew for a great OpenMaps project to share - I have done some slippy-tile viewing and loading - just tests, while collecting the know-how from the rest of tile map community - great to see a distinct android solution.
Code from svn-repo compiles - no errors!

I will play around with UI slightly, if I come up with something interesting - will let you know. Also, I will attempt to integrate some additional map resources and navigation features.
