offline GPS with custom map-sources? geo-sensitive graphic?

Postby claudette » Thu Nov 19, 2009 12:12 pm

hey guys!

What kind of possibilities do I have? I would like to use GPS and custom map-sources, but offline. First I thought about the OSMDroid library with own map-sources. But one cannot use it offline. My second idea was to use a simple graphic and make it geo-sensitive? How could I make a graphic geo-sensitive?
Could anybody please give me some hints? Are there other opportunities to realize something like I want to?

thanks a lot!

You can use OpenStreetMap, there are programs that let you save data (tiles) from selected areas in file - then you can use it offline.
there is even a program that do that - RMaps

own graphic geo-sensitive

thank you for your answer!
I also need to know how to make my own graphic geo-sensitive! That means: I would like to use any graphic and mark my position on it. How can I realize the positioning? I need somehow to know where the received longitude and latitude on my graphic are.
Has anybody already dealed with something like that and could help?

Thanks a lot!
