Map Overlay Animation

Postby don » Thu Mar 06, 2008 5:25 am

Does anyone know if it is possible to move a map overlay? I am trying to make a circle appear to move between two points on a map by adjusting the overlay's lat/lng slightly each time slice until it arrives at point two. I don't know if Android has anything that is similar to a frame, but essentially that is what I need.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello don,

the Overlay always uses the Lat/Lng of the underlying MapView.
You could add offsets to everything you draw on the canvas.

Maybe I didn't really get your problem ;)

The issue (for me anyway :) ) is getting the overlay to "move". Is there a better way than using a timer to offset the current image, then MapView.Invalidate() to redraw the entire canvas? Is there a way to just redraw one overlay (I have several, but only one changes)?

Thanks again for your help.
