Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to create an application similar to Google My Tracks?

I was thinking of having a go myself but I'm not sure where to begin. I would need a login page on the android application so user's can login and see where they have travelled.

The application will need to broadcast the devices exact GPS coordinates in intervals (every 30 seconds etc), store them in the SQLite database then pass this to a webserver so it can then be displayed on a Google Map online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got a app that already does some of the things you describe. The project is hosted at code.google.com and called Open GPS Tracker. It does not integrate with the online maps.google website.

I could benefit from an realtime upload feature to Google maps. So if you want to contribute (GPLv3 code) you are very welcome.
