GPS - Device Support It?

Postby Menor » Fri May 13, 2011 2:44 pm

Hello, i'm developing an application that uses GPS.

How can i know if the current device supports gps? What test should i do before use it?

Code: Select all
myLocation = new GPSLocation();
locationManager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 0, 0, myLocation);

You can check for

LocationManager _locmanager = (LocationManager)getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); if(!_locmanager.isProviderEnabled(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER)) {
}

Thanks
