well yes, i have been looking at the tutorials and have been attempting them since past few days.

the problem is i seem to be having errors with the java file..apparentlyi have to solve the xml file.
but when i click on the xml file (by the way, my xml file is named as AndroidManifest.xml, is that correct?), it brings about a dialog box that says "Android Manifest Overview".

i can't find any text document to enter the xml codings..

does anyone know, what is the mistake i am making?

There are 2 main xml files you want to play around with

the one I reckon your having problems with is in /res/layout/main.xml

and in eclipse when your looking at the screen where you would edit code, look at the bottom just above the console tab etc and there are little tabs for Layout and main.xml

Edit your xml file there.

This is the same for AndroidManifest.xml but its not a wise idea to manually edit the XML file for android manifest, instead do it through the various other tabs
