Empty Map

Postby Wuschey » Wed Jun 24, 2009 10:15 am

Hey,

I have problems displaying Maps in my Emulator.
I know, this topic is already written in this board, but there was no solution for my problem because
I already wrote a Twitter Client and it worked fine (internet connection). So I don’t know whats the Problem with the maps. The “Maps” Menu that’s already in the emulator also works fine.

Here are my settings:
AndroidManifest.xml

<uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps"/>

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" />
<user-permission android:name="android.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/>

No proxy but firewall.
And this is what it looks like ( same like some others ):

Changing Geo Data works fine if type in geo fix command.

maybe one of you has an idea.

Could be the API Key?

<com.google.android.maps.MapView
android:id="@+id/mapview"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:clickable="true"
android:apiKey="Your Maps API Key"
/>

Look this tutorial: http://developer.android.com/guide/tuto ... pview.html

<uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps"/>
is given within <application> element in manifest.... if not then same problem arises...
else Map key not proper setted
or Internet problem..
Hope you understanding
Forgive my english, it is poor

The solution was to set the “Custom debug keystore” setting (empty by default) to the same value as the “Default debug keystore” in the Eclipse preferences.
