Hello folks, i'm new here.

I want to buy a LG Optimus V (the pay as you go Android phone from Virgin Mobile) but I cannot switch over my number to it. I have pretty good wifi at home and at my university. Is it possible to set up the phone as a development device (accessing the market, accessing the internet) without a subscription?

In the interest of anyone who may be wondering the same, since this thread is months old, I was able to get an Optimus M (MetroPCS) for 100bucks at BestBuy and am now using it via wifi only. I am able to browse the markets and run apps, etc.
