This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a newly created integral team within a well established, international company developing and maintaining new services, products and features in line with their expansion in to mobile technologies. As part of the Company’s ongoing expansion plans, they are looking to hire two Mobile Application Developers. The Mobile Applications Developer will contribute to advanced development approaches, capabilities and architecture as a strong individual contributor within the newly created mobile development team.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Design, plan, develop, deploy and maintain working software in an agile environment
• Participate in a scrum team dedicated to a task such as online mapping, mobile support, content acquisition and management, and/or search development
• Reliably use the latest development technologies and suites to quickly produce and deploy software
• Design, develop, deploy and lead generation products and services on a large-scale website
• Quickly and reliably use Java, XML and web services
• Build and deploy for SOA and SAAS-based production environments

Skills and Experience Required
• Deep knowledge of at least two major smartphone platforms (from Symbian, Blackberry, iPhone, Android)
• Strong background in successful agile development and a strong team player
• Commercial experience of a C based language on mobile (C / Objective C / C++)
• Commercial experience of Java on mobile (J2ME / Android / Blackberry)
• Commercial experience using (or implementing) APIs for Location, Camera, SMS/MMS, Multimedia, Sensors, Bluetooth, Telephony
• Ability to optimise programs to achieve maximum performance on limited hardware (RAM, CPU)
• Familiarity with network based applications communicating with middleware/server backends
• Enthusiasm and passion for the potential of mobile technology

Desirable Skills and Experience (not essential)
• Specialist knowledge in the use of OpenGL/ES for 3D graphics
• Experience with test driven development
• Commercial experience with server-side Java, XML, XPath, web services & their architecture, Apache, Tomcat, Linux
• Experience with writing and deploying highly scalable server-side components
