I've used Palm PDA's for many years, just now switching from a Treo 650. Last night I received in the mail my Android / Tmobile on HTC phone.
What I like so far:
- Google maps: Great! The "find my location" using cell triangulation was off by a few blocks, however I have not yet tried the GPS, which should be much more accurate.
- Sliding window panes
- Browser, with ability to zoom in and out
What I miss (need?), that I used regularly:
- A (local) Notebook application, to scribble notes to myself
- Icons in Google calendar. This gives you a useful month-at-a-glance view. (I'm spoiled, having used Datebook 6). It would be great if I could do a mouse-over on a day and have its text pop up without having to switch into the day view.
- An application to (locally) store passwords & other textual information that should be securely encrypted
I'll keep looking around, maybe someone has written some of this stuff already.
