Watch Bad Grandpa Online I can't personally think of any movie that had an actor playing seven lead roles in the same story, but I'll admit that the first movie that popped into my head when I was first reading about this film was Multiplicity with Michael Keaton. Enjoy some '90s nostalgia below: Making Elysium, writer/director Neill Blomkamp cast Matt Damon in his first live-action science-fiction role, but for the filmmaker's next project he is turning to not only a sci-fi pro, but a sci-fi legend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blomkamp's Chappie has just added Ellen Ripley herself, Sigourney Weaver to the cast, the actress joining an ensemble that includes Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel and Sharlto Copley.
Watch The Counselor Online The film is based on a short film called Tetra Vaal that Blomkamp directed prior to breaking out with District 9 back in 2009, and he co-wrte the script with Terri Tatchell. THR has an official logline from the movie, which makes the project sound like an oddball little sci-fi tale: “After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.”
Watch Blue Is The Warmest Color Online While we had to wait four years between Blomkamp's feature debut and Elysium, the wait for the filmmaker's third project is going to be much, much shorter. It's only been a little more than two months since the release of his last feature, but Chappie has apparently already begun production down in Johannesburg, South Africa. Just like the director's last film, Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital are teaming up to make the movie, and it's already been announced that it will be in theaters on March 27, 2015. The rest of the cast beyond the actors mentioned above include actors Ninja, Yolandi Visser, Jose Pablo Cantillo and Brandon Auret.
Watch The Conjuring Online While it won't really give you any insight regarding the film's plot, you can watch Tetra Vaal below to get a sense of the world that the new feature will be set in, and possibly even the design of the lead character (who Copley will be voicing). This past summer you could hardly take a step without listening to one of Pharrell Williams' contributions to the music world, collaborating with both Daft Punk and Robin Thicke on the hit songs "Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines," but the singer/songwriter/rapper/record producer also had some big goings on in the movie world as well. Not only did Williams once again provide some tunes for Steve Carrell's Gru in Despicable Me 2, he also did some collaboration with Hans Zimmer on the Man of Steel score as a musician as part of the drum orchestra. And now we've learned that the superstar and the Oscar winning composer are getting set to work together again on yet another major comic book property.
Watch Insidious Chapter 2 Online In a recent interview with Billboard Magazine (via Bleeding Cool) discussing all of the projects that he is currently working on and getting ready for, Williams revealed that he will once again be collaborating with Zimmer, only this time it will be while working on the music for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Asked about who he will be producing in the next couple of months, the musician mentioned the project in passing, but didn't go into any depth about the extent of his involvement, saying simply, "Hans Zimmer and I are scoring "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
Watch Insidious 2 Online While it may be a little unclear how this collaboration might work, there is some evidence to be found in our own Sean O'Connell's interview with Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. During their conversation the subject of Zimmer came up, and not only did the filmmaker confirm that the composer is handling the score of the sequel, he added, "He may have another collaborator, but it’s too early to discuss that." Based on that quote, it almost sounds like Zimmer and Williams will have equal hand in writing the music.
Watch Prisoners Online Interestingly enough, the lead role was originally planned as a part for a male actor, but Wirkola decided to have this detail of the script changed after he met with Rapace and was impressed by her presence. Said the director in a statement, "Although the role was originally written for a male, I was struck by the complexities of having an actor portray seven characters and immediately knew Noomi was the ideal actor -- male or female -- to bring them to life." The trade report doesn't mention when cameras are going to start rolling on the production or when they are targeting the film for release.
After starring in Dead Man Down with Colin Farrell and Terrence Howard earlier this year, Rapce has been keeping very busy - and strangely has been working quite a bit with Tom Hardy. In 2014 the actors are set to appear together in two separate films, though neither title has a release date just yet. The first, titled Animal Rescue, is based on a Dennis Lehane story and script and is a crime drama that tells a complicated story sparked by a lost pit bull. The second, Child 44, is an adaptation of Tom Rob Smith's novel of the same name and follows a disgraced cop as he works to try and solve a string of child murders in Soviet Russia. Rapace is also expected to reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw in Ridley Scott's Prometheus 2, whenever that project ends up getting off the ground.
